VERSE 1- Christ! The Lord, the master, the King, reigned supreme, before and after the scene. Crucified, died under Pontius Pilate’s regime. No witnesses to His sin. He had a clean slate, clean slate. We debate over reasons to believe, getting farther from the Truth. His heart is surely grieved. Glorious gospel has turned into harvest seeking seed and I ain’t talking about souls. I’m talking bout greed (money, money). Talking about how we feel the need to water down the meat. Let’s instead chop it up. Should I slow down the beat? Let’s dissect the context of our need for Jesus. Cause everybody’s in need of a reason. The reason being we stopped seeing the cross for what it is, the only remission, so while you’re fishing and casting your net into the sea of answers-consider this anthem the great commission.
He chose twelve. He’s choosing you today. This world is a conveyor belt. It’s moving you away and all its fleeting notions are fooling you to say “Christ is just an option”, but ooh what a mistake. He died just to save us, never to condemn us. Was friendless so that He could befriend us. Loved us so much He died while we were yet sinners. If you need another reason, I suggest you come again just….
COME AGAIN.
Chorus- Open eyes to my demise. Didn’t know what to believe, longing to be free. Death was near. Now, I’m here looking to You. Help me see You are the only reason.
VERSE 2- We all got it, got it when we don’t get it, get it. We come to Christ in error even if we don’t admit it. We’re living in an era where there’s very few that live it. So tell me, what’s your reason? Spit it out, let’s hear it. Is it just on the weekends or whenever you hear it? Do you feel a strong emotion deep down in your spirit? Is it just Hell? Just because you fear it? How can you tell if you’re saved if you never feel it?
It’s not based on emotion - that makes no sense when their subject to change without notice. It proves a lack of faith like Peter in the ocean. Take your eyes off Jesus, I bet you’ll stop floating. It’s not about the cash or what is we gain. It’s simply about the blood washed removal of our stains. Christ died in our place and removed all of our shame. If you need another reason, I suggest you come again just….
